The House is a large Victorian building, which is very well maintained and has many outstanding features, creating a very pleasant living environment. All the rooms have en-suite shower facilities. In addition to the main house, there are two, purpose built, independent bungalows on the site, to 'move on' placements, where this is part of an agreed plan. The home is very well located to public amenities, including a local Shopping Mall and many recreation facilities, which are in easy walking distance; there is also a bus stop outside the home with direct links to the City Centre and local colleges. The House is a modern, family sized house, which is very well maintained with many homely features, creating a very pleasant living environment. Three of the rooms have en-suite shower facilities and there is a shared bathroom and separate shower room. The home is very well located to public amenities, including a local supermarket, Leisure Park and Swimming Pool, with many other social and recreation facilities, which are in easy walking distance; there is also a bus stop outside the home with direct links to the City Centre and local colleges. The Staff Teams
Alexandra Homes is committed to providing high staffing ratios, with suitably qualified and experienced staff, in order to meet the individual needs of our residents. The Registered
Manager of Alexandra House is a qualified Social Worker, with a B.Sc (Honours) Degree in Social Policy and a Post Graduate Certificate in Management; he also has over 20 years experience in the field
of Health ans Social Welfare, Special Educational and Residential Care. All the Support Workers follow a full Induction Programme and are regularly supervised by Senior Staff(Click here to see the Organisation Structure Chart)
In addition, all staff follow a mandatory training programme, including NVQ 3, delivered through the Home’s Training Department, which is registered with City and Guilds as a Training Centre. The rest of the Management Team are highly experienced and qualified and have significant experience of working with clients with Asperger Syndrome and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
